This time of year is when I start organizing and planning for Christmas. Yes, I am one of those insane planners, but it makes everything go smoothly once Thanksgiving comes around! I look around for inspiration, figure out what I'm going to do for my Christmas cards, plan crafty gifts for friends/family, and of course figure out party plans and menu ideas! We have a lot of birthdays and events in September and October that I really do have to start early if I want to get everything done on time. With a toddler and a baby to take care of, and almost 100 cards to make, I have to get started early!
I already have my cards planned and a few assembled, so I thought I would show them to you today. My dearest husband bought me a cricut last year for Christmas, so I had to use that for the cards this year. I used the Winter Wonderland cartridge with the sleigh image. I told myself I had to use up all my old Christmas paper before I could buy any more, and I have a lot of paper from an old DCWV stack. Since there are only a few sheets of each design, most of the cards will end up looking a little different with the patterns, but the overall look will be the same. Here are my cards:
I always try to keep my cards simple since I have to make so many. In October I'll plan a family photo to put on the inside of the card. I'm thinking this year we'll wear coordinating red shirts. I hope you enjoyed looking at my project. The next stop on the blog hop is Maribeth.
My secret word isleaf
By the way, I will be giving away a small RAK. All you have to do is become a follower of my blog and write a comment on this post letting me know when you start planning for Christmas. You have until August 29th. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
This is a new forum I joined, and they have fabulous challenges! There's something for everyone - layouts, cards, even digital challenges! (Seriously, I really want to learn how to do digital layouts, and this may be the place to inspire me!)
Since Samantha had a family emergency last week, she wasn't able to post last week's color combo challenge.. so this week she's doing two challenges! I already posted the first one, here is the second one!
With these beautiful colors, I came up with this card...
Just perfect for a baby shower gift, I think! Do you want to participate in this challenge? Then hop on over here to Samantha's blog to play!
I'm participating in the ABC crop at My Sketch World. Each day is a new challenge that starts with a letter of the alphabet. Today's challenge is B for Border punches. So I found a sketch with pagemaps and did this layout..
Papers are from Fancy Pants "The Daily Grind" and a couple of random ribbons..
I am the mother of two adorable boys - 5 year old Liam who keeps me on my toes, and 3 year old Collin who is a brave little brain cancer survivor. My life is not easy, but I make the best of what I've got. I love to scrapbook and to cook, and I look forward to sharing our journey with you.
