BOF Stash Challenge

The June Stash Challenge at Birds of a Feather is to use a mask or template on a layout. After several failed attempts, I finally found a number die cut page that made the perfect mask for this layout. Using my June counterfeit kit, I only had to dig up the numbers to finish up the page!

My Mind's Eye Sketch Challenge

Since my June kit has lots of My Mind's eye papers, I decided to use it for their sketch challenge this month. In addition to using a sketch, I had to use the theme song lyrics. The title is "you are my sunshine"... credited songwriters are Jimmy Davis and Charles Mitchell, but you can click here for a more detailed history of this song if you're curious.

BOF Sketch Challenge

This is the second layout I did using my June counterfeit kit. I used the sketch challenge from Birds of a Feather using a prima build a page sketch.

BOF Ad Challenge

This is the first layout I did with my June Counterfeit Kit. I used the Ad Challenge at Birds of a Feather as inspiration and created this...

June Counterfit Kit

Since I have reorganized my scrap room to make things easier to find, it seems to be so much easier to have things grouped into kits. So I decided to follow along this month at the Counterfit Kit Challenge Blog to see how I do. This month they are using Burlap and Buttercup's June 2011 Main Kit for inspiration, you can see it here.

They use mostly Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye in summery greens, blues, and pinks. Of course, I don't have any of those papers, and with two boys I really don't have very much pink paper. So I decided to change the colors a bit to blues, greens, and orange, with some yellow thrown in too. I have a big collection of My Mind's Eye Breaking Free line (won as a blog prize), and I added an assortment of Basic Grey papers I thought were summery and coordinated. Then I matched up a few pages of Bazzill. I went through my embellishments and threw in some stuff, along with some brads, ribbon, and alphabets, and here's my kit I put together...

And here's a close up of the papers...

and here's a close up of the embellishments...

I'm hoping to get some good summery pages out of this kit.. let's hope I can do it!

June BOF Color Challenge

Amy at the Birds of a Feather forum has a beautiful color palatte selected this month for the color challenge, shown here:

Of course, after looking through my pictures, this was the perfect picture to use. I used Prima papers and prima flowers which I misted red and then misted a layer of perfect pearls to make them shimmery! I also used the sketch from Prima's blog for the June challenge seen here... enjoy!

The Good Stuff

Here is the card I created based on a sketch on the October Afternoon blog. The metal embellishment has a quote that says "A friend is one who knows all about you and likes you anyway".. that is the good stuff!

Snow Couple

This card is for two challenges. The first challenge from My Unity Place is to use a unity/ippity stamp to make a background. The second is from the Paper Crafts blog where the challenge is to stamp with markers. I used the Winter Wishes stamp and just colored in the snowflakes with a blue marker and stamped the background. I then added the tag with the tree (leftover from a kit), and used pop dots for the snow couple which I cut from an old Christmas card.

Fun

This is a layout I created based on a sketch on the Sassafras Lass blog. The papers were perfect for capturing the feeling of the day!

Today's Photo

Conversation around the neighborhood:

"Hi, I'm Liam. This is my new bike. I got it at the bike store."

Okay, so it's not a new bike, it's a hand me down from a friend. But you refused to ride it until after daddy took you to the toy store to look at bikes (you were not happy because they didn't have a Lightning McQueen bike in your size). You love riding this bike now and as always you have to talk to everyone you come across.

In My Perfect World

This layout is for 3 challenges...

The first is for the June journalling challenge at Birds of a Feather - we were given several journalling prompts to choose from, and I chose this one: Close your eyes and imagine the kind of world you would like to see. What is it like?

The second is for Core'Dinations blog challenge, to use Core'Dinations cardstock for your journalling (I also embossed and sanded it).

The third is to use a sketch from the Pagemaps blog.

And here are the close up details....

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

So this is my first time creating something for the Tuesday Trigger. The trigger is based on the photo below:

I was inspired by the large monochromatic floral pattern and used that as my background paper. The vase of flowers I decided to use as the focal point on my card - I used a digital stamp from www.birdscards.com. I also decided to leave some white space to the sides to mirror the white space to the side of the large pattern on the wall. Here it is:
